OK so I made this blog so I could post comments on Clare's ultimate blog, and now I have to think of something to write!! Well .... Maths Music French - that's me: Love Maths (it's sad, so sad), music (but only good stuff eg. Mozart, Diana Ross, Cole Porter) and bien entendu le francais c'est la meilleure langue du monde! De temps en temps je vais peut etre ecrire un petit peu dans cette belle langue; si vous ne comprenez pas allez voir babelfish, tant pis pour toi. Yes it's true if you hadn't realised, Clare the dude is my fab daughter! And the bean the bean is another one! Today's conundrum is: I have 3 containers, one capacity 8 litres, one 5l one 3l. The 8 litre one is full. How do I pour water from one to another to get exactly 4 litres in the largest container and 4 litres in the middle one?

Well done Neil, that's exactly how I did it! Don't think it could be done any more efficiently.
yo mr m, that well known puzzle was already solved by the infamous john mcclane (bruce willis) of the nypd in die hard: with a vengeance (john mctiernan director, fox, 1995)! im sure movie guru clare will be able to brief you on this movie if not familiar.
I don't understand. Why can't you just pour 4l into the 5l container? Eh? Am I being dense..
Lovely blog Mr Martin
